Transnational companies have found Costa Rica as a great country to establish. Those companies look for people not only specialized in certain fields, but also knowledgeable in English; however, the lack of personnel that is fluent in English is a present problem for companies looking for individuals with these qualifications. For this reason, some of them decide to stop their operations in Costa Rica.

El presente Trabajo Final de Graduación, en la modalidad de tesis de grado, se denomina “Desarrollo del enfoque lúdico en el proceso de estimulación temprana”, cuyo contenido se ha organizado de la siguiente manera: El Capítulo I denomina Formulación del problema, en el cual se detallan los antecedentes, la justificación, delimitación del problema. Además se menciona la definición operacional de términos y por último los alcances y las limitaciones de la investigación. Por su parte, en el Capítulo II, se plantean Objetivos del proyecto de tesis, en términos del objetivo general y los específicos. En el Capítulo III, se explica la Fundamentación teórica, donde se desarrollan todos los conceptos teóricos que dan sustento al trabajo. El capítulo IV se denomina Abordaje metodológico, en el cual se especifican los temas de enfoque y tipos de investigación, así como las técnicas e instrumentos apropiados para la obtención de información de interés a los objetivos específicos de la tesis de grado. Por su parte, en el capítulo V, se plantea el Análisis e interpretación de la Información, en el cual se detallan los análisis e interpretación de los datos de la investigación. El Capítulo VI se denomina Conclusiones y recomendaciones, en el cual se detallan con nivel de objetividad, las conclusiones y las recomendaciones derivadas del Capítulo V. En el Apéndice, se localiza la propuesta de solución al problema investigado.

This research is carried out in the Instituto of Alajuela. The institute is a public educational center. The participants are seventh year students of the groups 7-3 and 7-8. The students are between 13 and 15 years old during the third quarter, 2017. About the geographical zone the high school takes place, it is important to mention it is located in the central district of Alajuela. Therefore, the student population varies in terms of educational background, social, and financial status. These differences set the needs and characteristic of every seventh year group.

The third grade students of the Felix Arcadio Montero School have not received a reading instruction or reading techniques because of the existing void in MEP’s I cycle English program. According to the mentioned previously, the focus of their English classes are on listening and speaking activities; therefore, they struggle when it comes to reading simple words and if they manage to read a few words the pronunciation and fluency is poor.
