También se busca poner a reflexionar tanto a los estudiantes como a las docentes sobre si les gusta utilizar este tipo de actividades y sobre todo si son útiles para la absorción de conocimientos. Además, proporcionar nuevas ideas y herramientas que permitan a al docente a ayudar a los niños en su adquisición de un propio criterio, astucia y desenvolvimiento en el entorno, esto quiere decir que sea capaz de ser dinámico, explorador del entorno y de sí mismo. The research aims to analyze the main factors that have affected the learning of the reading skill in the students of the group mentioned above, the benefits that music therapy has on the students and their education, and to inform on different methods to use in the class in order to provide effective learning strategies. The nature of the research is qualitative, so instruments were built and applied to collect information in the classroom. The techniques used in the Preparatory B class at Pan-American School were observation, in order to examine specific characteristics and behaviors in the students; survey, which was implemented to the homeroom teachers to generally analyze their knowledge in music therapy and its application in the class, and in this way compare and examine data; interview, in order to know in greater depth the trajectory of the homeroom teachers, the difficulties they have observed in the class in regard to the reading skill, and the connection they consider there may be between the use of music and teaching of the mentioned skill. This information is presented as a contribution for preschool educators when it comes to including the use of music not only in the routine, but also in the learning of basic and lifelong skills.Item The implications of implementing the Play-Based learning Approach in enhancing the soft skills (social skills, problem solving, critical thinking, language development) among three- and four-year-old students attending Pre-K level at Amadita Primary School in Coronado, San José during the Second Semester 2023(Universidad Hispanoamericana, 2024) Rodríguez Campos, Victoria Cristina; Arguedas Carballo, Yanory; Facultad de Educación; Vargas Vindas, Ariel Gustavo; Educación Preescolar BilingüeThe main idea of this investigation is to determine if the Play Based Learning Method might help students enhance their soft skills (social skills, problem solving, critical thinking and language development), but also, to see the happiness and joy that play can bring the students during their learning process, helping them feel more comfortable and enjoying acquiring new concepts and sharing time with their peers. The Play Based Learning method has been used throughout the years, but nowadays is not so accepted because of the fact that society tend to think that play can´t produce any knowledge on daily basis, but nothing can be far from the truth; children actually learn, but they can also improve their social skills and their communication process, among some other benefits.Item Implementing ChatGPT-3.5 as a Pedagogical Tool to Improve EFL Students’ Fluency and Accuracy During Impromptu Speeches at Centro de Estudios de Idiomas Conversacionales (CEIC) during the Third Quarter 2023(Universidad Hispanoamericana, 2024) Campos Bermúdez, Jazmín; Arguedas Carballo, Yanory; Facultad de Educación; Vargas Vindas, Ariel Gustavo; Educación Preescolar BilingüeThis study explores the effectiveness of using ChatGPT-3.5 as a pedagogical tool to enhance the fluency and accuracy of EFL students during impromptu speeches. The methodology involves a qualitative approach, including a pre-test and a post-test checklist, a questionnaire, and a Likert scale. Results indicate significant improvements in students’ accuracy and overall speaking skills after four weeks of using ChatGPT-3.5. Vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation were the skills that improved the most during the process. The findings suggest that ChatGPT-3.5 supports the Communicative Language Approach by providing students with a conversational partner for authentic practice and immediate, personalized feedback. Furthermore, this study demonstrates how these strategies are designed to integrate curricular objectives with the students' natural, active characteristics, thereby enriching their learning experience. By doing so, the strategies aim to enrich the learning experience, fostering greater enjoyment and engagement in the process. This approach ultimately facilitates significant learning and aids in the internalization of phonemes, enabling students to identify and produce them with greater ease and confidence.Item The implementation of the teach methodology principles to improve the undertanding of english vocabulary commands in students from preplevel in Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Bilingual School during the first and second quater 2024(2025) Ortiz Araya, Dayana María; Apuy Rojas, Adriana; Facultad de Educación; Universidad Hispanoamericana; Vargas Vindas, Ariel Gustavo; Educación Preescolar BilingüeCosta Rica's education has suffered different changes during the last years which look for the educational system improvement to guarantee what is established in the 78 article of the Constitución Política de Costa Rica “La educación preescolar, general básica y diversificada son obligatorias y, en el sistema público, gratuitas y costeadas por la Nación” (Constitución Política de la República de Costa Rica, 1949) giving the chance to children, teenager, and adults to have the same rights and privileges in their learning process. Based on this, inclusive education has taken a lot of importance in the last years in our classrooms which has become a place of new learning for teachers, and where many times they need support and new ideas to work with their children in the classrooms. This research project was developed in Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Bilingual School in Cartago, Costa Rica, a private institution with big prestige in the province. The investigation was developed with a fourteenth preparatory group (from five to six years old) in which there was the presence of an autism spectrum disorder. The objective of the investigation is to demonstrate how the implementation of the TEACCH methodology may contribute to and help teachers to develop their classes with all their students taken into consideration their different ways of learning and the different disabilities that they present that may become in their fort.
