The institute is a public educational center. The participants are seventh year students of the groups 7-3 and 7-8. The students are between 13 and 15 years old during the third quarter, 2017. About the geographical zone the high school takes place, it is important to mention it is located in the central district of Alajuela. Therefore, the student population varies in terms of educational background, social, and financial status. Those companies look for people not only specialized in certain fields, but also knowledgeable in English; however, the lack of personnel that is fluent in English is a present problem for companies looking for individuals with these qualifications. For this reason, some of them decide to stop their operations in Costa Rica.
