Culture and its Relation to the Interpretation of Conversational Implicatures of Senior Students from the English Teaching Major at Universidad Nacional and Universidad Hispanoamericana.

Durante el aprendizaje de un idioma, la lengua y la cultura son componentes que no pueden ser separados. El propósito de esta investigación es determinar el impacto de los cursos culturales de la carrera de enseñanza de la UNA y la UH en la habilidad de los estudiantes de ultimo año del 2022 para interpretar implicaturas conversacionales. La metodología consiste en un estudio cualitativo y la aplicación de una encuesta, un cuestionario, y una entrevista. Los resultados muestran los medios de comunicación como la fuente principal de conocimiento cultural, algunas implicaturas son más difíciles de interpretar debido a su naturaleza, y que la falta de conocimiento cultural influencia la interpretación de implicaturas. La escasez de participantes representa la principal limitante. Se recomienda realizar investigaciones de esta naturaleza aplicando distintas metodologías y con mayor participación. Los niños de primer grado de la escuela de Zapote, presentan una dificultad en la habilidad de escritura del inglés, lo cual repercute directamente en un bajo rendimiento académico causado por la utilización del método sintético, debido a que con este los estudiantes perciben las clases aburridas. Para lo cual, se desarrolla esta investigación con el fin de analizar los beneficios de implementar métodos innovadores como el lúdico a través de juegos como veo-veo, bingo y búsqueda del tesoro en la habilidad de escritura, y poder así comparar los resultados de ambos métodos. Para esto, se aplicaron dichas actividades en un total de ocho lecciones, y por medio de la realización de un diagnóstico previo y otro después de la aplicación de los juegos, se determinó que los niños adquirieron un mayor conocimiento de las letras y complete de palabras, así como un mejor rendimiento académico con el método lúdico, demostrando que este es un modelo eficaz en la enseñanza del inglés, ya que motiva y favorece al interés de los estudiantes.

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo encontrar una alternativa a los docentes e instituciones educativas para cómo mejorar la participación de los estudiantes en las lecciones de inglés conversacional y superar la ansiedad que presentan los estudiantes por la implementación del idioma inglés, especialmente, después de la pandemia y el confinamiento derivado por el Covid-19. Esta investigación recopila datos e información acerca de la implementación de la estrategia didáctica de trabajo en equipo como herramienta para potenciar este deseo de participación en los estudiantes, del mismo modo, la investigación describe las características y ventajas de la estrategia al momento de implementarla en las clases de inglés conversacional. Los contextos en los que se realiza la investigación fue el C.T.P Ricardo Castro Beer en Orotina. Un colegio con naturaleza técnica en la que los estudiantes reciben lecciones de inglés conversacional como parte del plan de estudios, igualmente, la población escogida es un grupo de inglés conversacional de 7° grado. Finalmente, esta investigación recopila los datos encontrados sobre la estrategia con los contextos de la vida real y los desafíos que enfrentan no solo los docentes, sino que también las personas estudiantes en su desempeño diario y valida el impacto real de esta estrategia comparada con el desempeño de las personas estudiantes.
Effectiveness of the cooperative learning approach to enhance simple present tense for fifth grade students at saint michael school during the second quarter of 2023

La investigación tiene como objetivo determinar los efectos del enfoque de aprendizaje cooperativo en la habilidad gramática en estudiantes de quinto grado del Saint Michael School. La implementación de la estrategia brinda alternativas a los estudiantes para que interactúen entre sí, además de promover la autonomía de su propio aprendizaje. Las habilidades gramaticales son parte esencial en las clases de inglés donde el profesor puede utilizar diferentes tipos de actividades donde los alumnos participan y practican sus habilidades para pulirlas de forma correcta. El presente trabajo es una investigación cualitativa donde se implementaron encuestas y se realizaron diferentes observaciones para recolectar información en el cual los encuestados son veintiún estudiantes del grupo 5B de Saint Michael School. Este proyecto incluye información sobre el aprendizaje cooperativo y habilidades gramaticales tomando en cuenta puntos importantes sobre los términos que son esenciales para el presente trabajo. Es primordial que los profesores incluyan diferentes estrategias para abordar las habilidades gramaticales de manera cooperativa y colaborativa para con los estudiantes, ya que esto les beneficia tanto fuera como dentro de la institución.
The Effectiveness of Using Social Media to Enhance Fluency Communication on Eleventh Grade Students in Marco Tulio Salazar in Aserrí

This research project is based on the problems in the public education system specifically talking about the English teachers who do not use the foreign language to teach their classes. This project implements the use of Duolingo as a multimedia tool that allows the improving process of the Speaking skill and self-confidents in eleventh graders students in the academic English classes at Marco Tulio Salazar high school in Aserrí during the second semester of 2023. Teachers have a new teaching tool on social networks such as Duolingo for using a new tool in to improve speaking skills and self-confidents in high school students. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of using. This research is important because Duolingo is expected to help improve students speaking skills if used optimally. Duolingo is a website and an application designed to learn different languages to do a certification in English.

The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of students and instructors in distance education in terms of the dialogue established between students and instructors, to assimilate how efficient distance education was for them, in improving the ability to speak in the area of English, to be able to determine which factors influenced the most taking as a point of reference the scenarios of the Ministry of Public Education. The methodology consisted of a qualitative exploratory study, the data were obtained through observations, and the analysis of an institutional survey, answered by students. The main goal of the work is to investigate and know the root causes that interfere in the learning process in a language as important today as English, focused basically on students of the Bajo de Reyes School in the virtual modality of the Region Coto, Circuito 05. Why the selection of this topic? Since there are many reasons why students do not learn a language, and especially those who are finishing primary school, are faced with it more frequently in the pandemic COVID-19. The aim of this work is to identify those difficulties that students face when acquiring a second language in distance education.

In this research developed during a quarter at the Liceo de Miramar in 2021, it aims to demonstrate that the oral ability and production, the development of oral ability can show an increase, the objective of this research is developed through 6 chapters, of which it aims to prove that the use of technological online applications improve oral production in students. This research was carried out in order to test the use of Duolingo application as part of the English oral production. The introduction suggest that it is possible to take advantage of these skills students have to make them practice English with DUOLINGO to improve the teaching-learning process weather they have an internet connection or not. The purpose is that we can use the application as support for the students’ learning process and oral production. The general objective of the research is to determine the impact of English Educational online apps to enhance the oral performance in nine grade students at Liceo de Miramar during the third quarter of 2021.

El propósito de esta investigación es mostrar el importante papel que tiene la computación en la nube en el entorno de un aula para el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera. Usando juegos y canciones en línea (estos como parte de la computación en la nube), los profesores de inglés pueden enseñar sus lecciones y hacer que el aprendizaje sea más agradable para sus alumnos de noveno grado en el Liceo José Martí. El gobierno de Costa Rica tiene como objetivo hacer de su población una nación bilingüe y es por eso que se incluyen clases de inglés en las escuelas desde niños, pero a lo largo de los años los métodos y programas de enseñanza han sufrido mucho. cambios, hoy en día existe un mayor uso de los recursos tecnológicos para impartir las lecciones, tal es el caso del Liceo José Martí donde, con la ayuda del gobierno, han equipado sus aulas con los implementos necesarios para impartir las lecciones de inglés. Además, esta investigación tiene como objetivo dar detalles de qué es la computación en la nube y cómo su uso puede motivar el entusiasmo e interés de los estudiantes, provocando así un aprendizaje significativo en los estudiantes. También habla sobre el uso de juegos y canciones en línea que se pueden utilizar para impartir lecciones en el entorno de una clase de inglés. Asimismo, esta investigación brindará información más detallada al Liceo José Martí sobre el uso que están dando estudiantes y docentes al cloud computing en las clases, lo importante y beneficioso que ha sido la implementación de este tipo de tecnología en las clases de inglés y los impresionantes resultados que esto podría brindar a nivel nacional si el gobierno dotara a todas las instituciones de los recursos necesarios para impartir este tipo de clases.
The Impact of Implementing a Set of Speaking Techniques on Language Anxiety and Oral Participation of a Basic Level Students Group from the Sykes Academy During the I Period of 2022

The innate skill of communicating is visible in the majority of creatures on earth. People as well as other beings have faced challenges but always found a way to interact to each other. Communication has been a way for humans to evolve, learn and improve. The better people learn to communicate, the bigger the number of people they will reach. Learning other languages is a growing need on humans for intellectual, but also for commercial purposes. The basis of this paper is to explore how the language anxiety might interrupt or delay this learning process in students from the Sykes academy. This brief study throws important aspects to understand this broad topic and the way learners and educators manage such situation. This project is supported by other relevant studies on this field. As a whole, it will contribute to future researchers to understand this phenomenon and to create possible solutions to overcome possible obstacles when teaching a foreign language.
The impact of implementing the asynchronous debates through the flipgrid tool on the oral and argumentative skills of intermediate level groups a and b at centro de idiomas alcanza during the third quarter of 2021

El uso de la tecnología en la educación se ha incrementado a lo largo de los años para motivar a los estudiantes y ayudarlos a mejorar su proceso de aprendizaje del idioma inglés en general. A través de la pandemia, los profesores se han enfrentado al desafío de reorganizar la forma en que hacen su trabajo. Los educadores han estado experimentando con materiales en línea tratando de reemplazar los modelos educativos tradicionales con algunos modelos conducidos por la tecnología. Por tal motivo, esta investigación pretende analizar el impacto de la implementación de los Debates Asincrónicos a través de la herramienta Flipgrid en las habilidades orales y argumentativas de los grupos A y B de nivel Intermedio en el Centro de Idiomas Alcanza durante el tercer trimestre de 2021. Además, esta investigación brindará información detallada al Centro de Idiomas Alcanza sobre la manipulación que el educador y los estudiantes le están dando a la herramienta Flipgrid en las lecciones virtuales para considerar el uso de la herramienta como parte de las lecciones de inglés como segundo idioma en este instituto. Además, esta investigación proporcionará información sobre el progreso de las habilidades orales y argumentativas de los estudiantes y el uso de las funciones de Flipgrid como tal. Esto dará la opción a otras instituciones de incluso considerar el uso de esta herramienta en el futuro como una opción para practicar y mejorar las habilidades orales. Por último, el investigador proporcionará al Centro de Idiomas Alcanza un conjunto de actividades asincrónicas que se pueden realizar utilizando la herramienta Flipgrid para fomentar la producción oral y las habilidades argumentativas.
The Impact of Implementing the Usage of Tablets as a Technological Resource in the Learning of English Language Process in Students of the 4th Level of Primary Education at Carmen Lyra Educational Center in San Carlos, Alajuela during the 1st Quarter 2023.

La presente investigación, tuvo lugar durante el primer semestre del año 2023, se enfocó en examinar "El Impacto de la Implementación del Uso de Tabletas como Recurso Tecnológico en el Aprendizaje del Inglés". A lo largo de seis capítulos, el estudio tuvo como objetivo principal demostrar cómo el uso de tabletas pudo haber influido en el proceso de aprendizaje de un segundo idioma, específicamente el inglés. Además, se exploraron tanto las ventajas como las desventajas que surgieron al emplear las tabletas en este contexto educativo y se analizó la capacidad de docentes y estudiantes para incorporar estas herramientas tecnológicas de manera efectiva en la adquisición del idioma. Investigaciones anteriores habían señalado los posibles beneficios de utilizar tabletas como herramientas de aprendizaje en diversas áreas educativas. Sin embargo, este trabajo se centró en el análisis concreto del impacto del uso de tabletas en el aprendizaje del inglés por parte de estudiantes de cuarto grado en la institución educativa Carmen Lyra, ubicada en San Carlos, Costa Rica. Además, se colaboró estrechamente con la docente de inglés de dicho grupo para obtener una comprensión más completa de la dinámica del aula y la implementación de la tecnología.

propósito de esta investigación es analizar las estrategias en el rol de la habilidad en la lectura y escritura en el proceso de aprender inglés como lengua extranjera, tercero y cuarto ciclo del colegio Costa Rica Christian School. El uso de las estrategias de lectura y escritura para desarrollar y practicar inglés ha incrementado en los colegios, esto les permite a los estudiantes interactuar con el idioma en diferentes campos, a través del uso del contexto de lectura y escritura. Es importante investigar estrategias metacognitivas que promuevan el uso de la lengua en el entorno. Incorporar estrategias de lectura y escritura para fortalecer el uso del inglés en el aprendizaje, con el fin de promover el pensamiento crítico dentro y fuera del centro educativo es importante y necesario para que los estudiantes sean parte de un mundo global en el cual el idioma inglés es parte importante. Richard & Elder (2008) menciona: El pensamiento crítico es, el pensamiento crítico es, en resumen, un pensamiento autodirigido, auto disciplinado, autocontrolado y autocorrectivo. Requiere estándares rigurosos de excelencia y un dominio consciente de su uso. Implica habilidades de comunicación y resolución de problemas efectivas y un compromiso para superar nuestro egocentrismo y socio centrismo nativos. (pág. 9) Como consecuencia del Covid-19 el proceso de aprendizaje ha estado cambiando drásticamente, no solo en los contextos que se enseñan, también en las diferentes formas que los estudiantes aprenden. El uso de las estrategias de lectura y escritura son importantes para implementar el conocimiento, motivar y promover el proceso de aprendizaje.

The present research is focused on the study of how public-school areas between seventh to tenth grade are working on the development of an inclusive Education in an English class as a second Language toward students with significant and non- significant students at Liceo de Tucurrique in the first quarter of 2022. Inclusivity started to take place in Costa Rica since many years ago, but this inclusive Education as well was declared being mandatory in Schools since 2018. The Ministry of Public Education known in Spanish as MEP took longer to incorporate the UDL (Universal Design of Language) known in Spanish as DUA into classrooms, this is a new way of thinking about how to apply education to any kind of student member reforming the curriculum and make the learning experiences more accessible and meaningful (Ana Patricia V. C, 2019), and when this was already required to be in the classrooms, the public entity had to run. Unfortunately, the inadequate managed of incorporation of this new design into class since lack of training and resources has complicated teacher´s performance, since what educators used to apply before in students with different capacities changed from night to day, there was not transition. For all this happened the previous years and also the unfortunate interruption of classes because of Covid- 19, students with significant and non-significant adaptations were observed as well as teachers in order to find out how well there are doing in English classes this year specifically and how well UDL is being developed through these four years, if the curriculum is being applied correctly, and how they feel and think about learning with adaptations, indeed. Moreover, at the end of this research are posted at set of recommendations and conclusions about the Impact of the Methodology Implemented by MEP to Increase the English Language Proficiency in Students with Significant and non- significant Curricular Adaptations by Applying an Inclusive Education.

The COVID-19 Pandemic, impact direct the education system with the suspension of face to face classes, teachers have to enlist and comply from the virtual modality at all levels of education , in the preschool model, children also changed face to face attendance and the game by virtual platforms such as computers and telephones to received their classes, so the present study aims to rescue and show activities that can be integrated into development of virtual classes since the characterization of the children in terms of teaching is an active methodology.

This research focused on improving one of the most important problems regarding, retention, grammar, speaking skill through the use of different proposals. Most of the resource’s techniques are related to several general aspects. Therefore, the retention of the target language using Visual Aids not always is using in the best way which represent weaknesses during the development of English classes. For this reason, this research is intending provide an achievable and concrete solution to this problem. The current investigation was carried out at Colegio Tecnico Profesional San Juan Sur. Through various theories that were analyzed throughout this research, it was possible to conclude that long-term memory and techniques for retention are essential components of any learning process. The application of any activity proposed was based on visual Aids, increases the levels of retention in the brain. It also activates long-term memory and develops a new vocabulary through images. This guarantees a more effective and lasting learning through English classes.
